Suggestions for achieving the highest success on ArtAvant
Tag You're It!
Keywords and Tags are important pieces of information describing aspects of your Works that help potential buyers during product searches on the site and content searches on the Internet. In a vast sea of mega-metadata, keywords and tags are beacons to help show the way to discovering what your Video Art has to offer to shoppers.
Ask yourself, how would someone who is not aware of a particular Video Art Work of yours find that Work on the website if they only had a few words to use to search for it? Those words would be the Tags or Keywords you would include with your Submission for publishing. So be sure to include a good listing of Tags to help buyers find you and your Works on ArtAvant.
Example Tags/Keywords for a Picturesque Mountain Vista Art Work: Landscape, Mountains, Lake, Forrest, Boat, Sunny Day
The Importance Of Sharing!
Shouting from the roof tops can be risky, so we make it easy and safer for you to let others know about your presence and portfolio of creative productions on ArtAvant. There are Social Media Share icons on your Gallery page, your About The Artist page and your Product pages on the website. Simply click on the Social Media Icon of your choice to automatically post your Gallery to that Social Media service.
If you want to post your pages to a Social Media service that is not one of the Social Media Icons available, simply copy the URL address of your pages found within the Web Browser address bar, one at a time, and post the URL to your Social Media accordingly.
Your followers can follow your Work and opportunities to purchase and show their support each time you post or re-post
But wait there’s more….sharing for success…via email!
Click on the email icon within the display of Social Media icons and send a pre-populated email message to recipients with ease. Just enter their email addresses individually or as a group and hit send. You can do a full-on email campaign this way without breaking a sweat.
Website Integration!
If you have a website it’s a good idea to integrate your ArtAvant pages within your site by posting a link to your ArtAvant Artist Gallery and Video Art Works on ArtAvant by copying the URL address of your pages found within the Web Browser address bar, and posting the URL address as a hyperlink to those pages.
You can do this with a simple Text Link such as “Checkout My Gallery On ArtAvant” or you can add the URL address to an image along with a Text Link saying “Check Out My Gallery on ArtAvant” or “Check Out My Video Art Work” on ArtAvant.
Now visitors to your website can easily visit your Gallery and Works on ArtAvant. Who knows where things will go from there, likely more sales and more sharing in honor of you, who sent them to the land of Video Art Wonders.
Fans and Buyers Can Relate!
Art Fans and Buyers are not only attracted to the types of Video Art they’re interested in, they are also attracted to the person behind the Art, the Creator, Master of the Muse, The Conductor of Color & Creativity…they are attracted to you the Artist.
Shoppers like the idea of having a relationship and connection with Artist whose Works they bring into their Homes, Workplace or Event spaces. They also like the satisfaction of supporting the creation process and promoting more creation along the way.
Take advantage of the features in place for you to tell us about yourself, your story, your process, your artistic desires and whatever else you care to say that helps connect visitors to you the person and your craft. Take the time to write an illuminating profile/bio using the “About The Artist” form in your Artist Dashboard. Your Artist Profile will accompany your Gallery and Your Works throughout the site giving many opportunities for Fans and Buyers to read and relate.
There’s No View Like Your “Artist View”!
We’ve included a cool feature as part of the “About The Artist” submission form, available in the Artist Dashboard, that provides you the opportunity to tell us what you think…to share your thoughts with the world through “Artist View”.
Artist View is an illustrated posting on ArtAvant expressing your thoughts, perspectives, inspirations, motivations on art, creativity and more, shared across various Social Media arenas. Participation is optional but highly advisable and entertaining.
At the bottom of the “About The Artist” form there is a place where you can provide a short Quote of yours, a bit of wisdom, philosophy or commentary that can be displayed over a Gallery Image of one of your Video Art Works to promote you and your Works on ArtAvant. Completed Artist Views are added to the “Artist View” Gallery and available for sharing on Social Media by ArtAvant as well as by visitors motivated by your words and the words of fellow Artists, to share Artist Views on their Social Media sites as well.
Artist View is a convenient, fun built-in marketing tool for creating awareness and for promoting visitor engagement and sales through extended exposure.

Accreditation – Video Art On-Screen Titles!
You may be familiar with the saying “Less Is More”. Well when it comes to putting on-screen titles and credits on Video Art Works many agree. It’s good for audiences to know the Artist who created the Work and sometimes the Artist has associates who also want or need to be accredited with the Work. There is no defined way to add on-screen titles or credits to Video Art. Approaches and styles differ as widely as the Art itself. Some Artist are fine without putting any titling on their Works, others take an approach similar to traditional Television programming with opening titles and closing credits and others fall somewhere in between.
Whichever approach is taken, it’s best that on-screen titling complements a Work vs taking away from the aesthetic. Many customers would prefer no titling at all with Video Art they are purchasing if it was feasible to do so.
The Metadata Method: There are ways to include accreditation within the metadata of a Video File when a file is produced or encoded for delivery. In those cases the metadata is generally viewable in Media Library and Media Player applications and other devices used to play the file. Which may be enough to satisfy accreditation needs or desires since that information is embedded in the file itself. Adding informational metadata to your Works is a good thing to do no matter the approach to on-screen titling.
At ArtAvant, we take a balanced approach to on-screen titling for Video Art Works produced by us. We show a very small ArtAvant Logo, on a scale of an Artist Signature in a painting, in the lower right corner of the screen. The “signature” logo is displayed lightly for a few seconds each time it appears at the beginning, again in the middle and again at the end of the Work. It is possible that a viewer may not notice it at all and that’s Ok since it is designed to credit the Work to ArtAvant and not distract from the enjoyment of it for the viewer.
In the end, it comes down to how you want to include titles and credits on your Works, or not, and how you choose to do so. Audiences are used to seeing credits on traditional forms of video and even though there may be a preference not to have titles and credits on Video Art by some buyers, there is an understanding that other forms of Visual Art such as photography, Television and Movies traditionally have accreditation as part of their presentation.
How much on-screen titling and credits play in the decision to purchase Works is unknown. In the words of the West Side Story Jets…”Just Play It Cool…”
